10 weeks

Where is the time going?!? Spencer is already 10 weeks old. I look at pictures of his first weeks and wonder if I still have the same baby! He changes everyday! This past week he started using his hands (see video)

We thought the first time was a coincidence, but he was hitting those animals for about 30 minutes. It was really cool to see him figure it out.

He has also been sleeping through the night for a week straight and seems to really like his crib. He is smiling, laughing cooing and squeeling a ton! He loves the morning time. We've been having a little trouble at night with him being fussy, but seems like a lot of babies have that same issue in the earlier months of life. We took him to the doctor this past week and he weighs 13.2 and is 24 inches long. Here are some pics from the week

Sushi night, mommy really missed this during those looooooong 9 months! ;)

Life back on the East Coast

Well, we have been home for almost a month now...time is flying by! We have settled in nice and I think Spencer really likes his new home! Other than a one week trip to New Mexico, Clayton has been here with us and has had a pretty undemanding work schedule. We had a very quiet Thanksgiving, it couldn't have been any better. I am so thankful for my family and the time God has provided for us all to be together.

Here are some recent pics.

Spencer is growing so fast, he weighed 12.5 at the doctor two weeks ago! Can't wait to see where he is at when we go for his next appointment. He has grown out all of his newborn clothes and some of his 0-3. I can't believe it. He is also holding his head up so well and smiling like crazy. I love when he smiles, it's so precious. Bath time and gliding are his favorite things to do, we always get a smile out of him in the bath.

my favorite bath time pic :)

We will be traveling back to Texas on the 15th for Haley and Billy's big day and for Christmas! We hope everyone is doing great and can't wait to see you all back in TX very soon! Love to all

38 weeks

Mom and I went to my 38 week appointment today. Midwife says everything looks good and that I am almost 1 cm dialated and 25% effaced. Not much but atleast it's a little progress! I go back next week for another check up. Clayton will be here on Saturday afternoon! I am pretty excited I get to keep him for a while, 3 weeks! :-) :-) :-) We haven't spent that much time together in a longgggg time!!!

37 weeks!

I am officially FULL TERM! 37 weeks. This makes me really excited, only 20 more days until due date!

Clayton, Billy and Haley were all in town this past weekend, it was a great weekend! We ate some amazing BBQ & watched football. Clayton and I went and got a 3d scan of Smitty thanks to H&B! He hid his face the whole time so we had to leave and come back. It's not really his fault, he is so squished in there you can't blame him for not turning over and smiling for the camera. haha! When we came back I drank some cold OJ and he turned just in time for us to be able to see his face. Here are a couple of the pics we got. Looks like he's got some cheeks on him!

I have our bags packed and ready to go! Hopefully it will be sooner than later.

Hope everyone is well.

Baby Shower Weekend!

This past weekend was so much fun....I had two awesome baby showers and received some wonderful gifts for little Smitty. I am so thankful to everyone who was a part of this weekend and helped make it such a fun and memorable time! We truly cannot thank you enough!

Here are some pics from the Showers..

Today is 36 weeks. Doctor says everything is looking great and smitty is looking like a good size baby! :-/ Hope that means he will come sooner than later???? ;-)

Clayton is coming in town this Friday! Billy and Haley will also be coming, it should be a really fun weekend! As for this week, I am organizing gifts, getting my hospital bag ready! :-) Can't wait for the big day to arrive!! Love to all!

Weekend in Houston

I got back from Houston on Sunday evening. It was so good to see my sis and Billy....and of course little Tripp was SO adorable and funny!
He is such a cute little guy.

He is so short that he can stand up under Owen without touching him. LOL

Anyway, Houston was a lot of fun, we went swimming, found Haley's bridesmaid dresses, went to Kristi's going away party and just hung out and had a good time! I don't think I'll be making it back down there anytime soon but Hay is coming to Pville soon so I'm happy about that!

Clayton is also going to come in town soon! We didn't think he was going to make it back for another trip before baby comes but thankfully he is!! I miss him so much.

As for now, I have 34 days until my due date and I am taking it easy and trying to get organized and get my bags packed for the hospital. I feel so unprepared! :-/ I know everything will work out, just getting nervous!!!!

Love to all!

How great is our God

Trying to wrap my head around creation and our existence is absolutely crazy. As I am approaching my due date, I have many thoughts, worries, fears and questions that I know will just have to be answered in time. The only thing I know to do right now is keep my thoughts positive and remember that God is in TOTAL control of my life.

Carolyn (Clayton's mom) shared this video with us last year and I can't help but think of Louie Giglio's wise words and God's greatness in this time of my life. If you have time, here are a few clips from the talk. It truly is incredible! (This is just the last part of the talk, the first half is SO awesome! Especially if you are an atronomy lover! Look it up!)

34 weeks

5 Weeks and 5 days until due date! It's getting so close but I feel like time is ticking by so slooowwww.

Here is most current belly shot..

Went to OB yesterday, everything looks, sounds & feels good. I love all of the midwives and docs at the practice and feel confident in them to deliver our little man. I set up the rest of my appointments up until 40 weeks, weird! I remember going to my 9 weeks appointment! Seems like just yesterday but it was in Feb!

I am going to Houston this weekend to see my sis and Bills. I am excited to get out of Pville for a while and spend time with my sis. I also get to meet the newest addition to our family... my nephew, Tripp Mcleod!!

Here is his picture..

Isn't he a cutie!?!?

I haven't posted anything for a while so I have lots of pictures and other stuff to write about and will be posting more this week. Love to you all and hope you have a blessed week!

31 weeks

Wow, only 9 Weeks until my due date! I feel like that is such a long ways off, and at the same time I feel so unprepared and nervous! All I know is I am ready to see our little boy!

Clayton has been here for the past 8 days. We had a great time together and it was actually a little harder than usual to say good bye this time. It is a pretty common routine for us but maybe it's just because I don't want him to miss the next 2 months, I feel like I am really going to miss him a lot, especially those nice foot rubs! ;-)

We had a couples shower the first night Clayton was in town. It was so much fun seeing all our old pville friends. Having everyone show up to help us celebrate the baby was truly a blessing. Little Smitty got lots of fun things!

We also went to a Lamaze class on Saturday before he left which I am so thankful for! We gained a lot of knowledge and the class over all was very informative. Kinda made things a little more scary, but also put me at ease to know that all mother's have to go through it and that I can do it! The class was 5 hours long and during our breathing exercises I kept falling to sleep while the teacher was giving instructions for the next technique. It was hard to stay awake! I think I got the idea though. We also got the giggles...yes, the uncontrolable giggles! We felt horrible but could NOT stop laughing at the end of the breathing exercises! It was pretty funny. Thank god it was the last exercise! I think we would have had to leave the classroom.

We got to spend time with all of our parents and some family members while he was here, but pretty much took it easy and relaxed the entire week.

Well, It's almost 1am so I better get to sleep! I can't believe August is only 5 days away! Hope everyone is doing well! Goodnight!

Third Trimester

Went to the doctor today. Had my Glucose test (YUCK!) and also had another ultrasound to check on the Placenta Previa, which is gone! Got to see the baby, he has really grown. He looked like a REAL baby! :-) So cute! I started feeling sick after they drew my blood for the glucose test and almost passed out...had to cut my ultrasound short bc of this. That was a little disappointing because we were having so much fun looking at the little guy. Here is a picture..

Little Smitty at 28 weeks 4 days old!

I can't believe the third trimester is already here, I feel like I still have a long time to go but I think it will go by fast! Clayton is coming in town next weekend and gets to stay for over a week! Can't wait.

Me and Major on a walk after playing fetch.

Sweet Maj..

Happy boy!

26 weeks

Back In Houston! Baby is growing a lot! He moves around a little during the day but seems to be a little night owl! He usually always starts moving around right when I lay down to go to bed.

I went to my new OB in Austin and love it! My next visit is on July 9 for a follow up ultra sound. My old doctor found that I had Partial Placenta Previa at my 19 week Ultrasound, and never told me! Thankfully I brought my old charts with me and the new midwife looked over them or I would have never known! :-/ Typically there is not a ultrasound performed after the 20 week mark if everything looks ok. Just trying to stay positive about it and hoping that everything will look normal at the next visit.

26 week belly..My Belly Button is permanently stuck out. I still try to poke it in, but unfortunately it pops out within a couple of seconds. Ha Ha!

Clayton and I talk as often as we can. Work seems to be keeping him pretty busy lately. We are keeping our fingers crossed that he will be able to come to TX near the end of July! I really hope he can make it!

Haley and I have been having a good time together this week. We have been working out and going to the pool daily! Gotta love this Texas Sun! I almost feel guilty sometimes for how much I don't do, but I guess this is my time to enjoy it because after September I know things will never be the same again! In a good way, of course, just won't have this luxury time to enjoy on my own. Only 93 days until my due date! I can't wait to see my son's face and give him a kiss!

.......................................................................................

I love this song, it's a constant reminder to me of God's incredible and never-ending love for us. I hope it brings joy to your day and you can dwell in a place of peace today knowing how much God loves YOU!

Nursery projects

I've been in VA for about a week now and the nursery still has a long way to go but it's looking better everyday.

This is the bedding with the paint colors I picked

We bought this armoire on craigslist for a bargain! The paint job it came with looked a little too 'old' for the nursery so I decided to freshen it up, but keep the antique look.

I sanded it, and did a 3 step process crackle paint finish. These were my paint choices, I went with the white w/green underneath.

I also tore the wire doors off and replaced them with padded fabric doors that match the bedding, and will be super easy to replace one day.

With the left over fabric I covered an old magnetic board I had in college.

Thats all I have for now... I think I might try to put fresh paint on the walls and make a lamp to match the rest of the decor before I come home. Thats all I think I can handle for now. ;-) Hope everyone has a great weekend!

25 weeks

Today is 25 weeks! Things have been pretty good, I have been feeling the baby move a lot the past 2 weeks! When I got to VA I hadn't felt him very much, but yesterday and today he has been really active in there, especially after I eat! It feels like little muscle twitches in my tummy...pretty neat when you feel it and see it at the same time! Clayton hasn't felt him kick yet, I am hoping he gets to soon because it's sooooooo cool! :-) Clayton is at work all week but I am staying busy with my business and hunting down baby bargains! Hope everyone has a blessed week!

Nursery in Progress!

I'm back home, (in Virginia) got here on thurday and will be here until the 21st. It's so good to see Clayton although we are a little bored without the boys! We are staying pretty busy though. Lots to do!

We decided on the bedding and it should be here on Tuesday! Here it is..

I was hoping I could make it myself but I found this and loved it so it will save me a lot of time and stress. Can't wait to see it in person! :-)

I also bought a used armoire on craigslist that will be very helpful with having a place to hold hanging clothes in the baby room..our closets are very small! I think I might paint it once I see the bedding. Now all we need is a dresser and or changing table and the room will be furnished! Woo!
