As many of you know, Clayton and I are expecting our first baby! We wanted to be able to share this chapter of our life with all of the people we love. Since we are so far away from the family and most of our friends, we have created a blog to keep in touch with all of you, and to keep you updated along the way. Enjoy!
February 2nd I woke up and decided it was time to take a pregnancy test. I wasn't worried or really expecting anything either way, just took the test. Clayton left the previous morning for training, so I was by myself.
So... I did my thing... and waited a good 10-15 seconds. I wasn't expecting a result that fast.. Wow! I fell to my knees, wept, and thanked the Lord for what I had seen. A positive result!
I paced around the house for the next couple of hours until I had to "go" again. Surprised and shocked all over again, the next test was also positive. Wow.

The previous week had been probably one of the hardest weeks I have had in a long time! I was emotional, lonely, a blizzard had blown in from who knows where, we were stuck in the house for 3 days straight, I was just feeling really down about everything! So this surprise was a bright start to the week ahead and I was thankful for that!
I called the Navy Medical Clinic to make an appointment, and was scheduled for Thursday. It was very hard for me to keep this a secret...especially from Clayton. I wanted to tell him SO badly, just not over the phone, it didn't seem right. So I waited. But in the mean time I ordered a longhorn onesie from the University of Texas Co-op, hoping this would be an appropriate way to break the news to Clayton, UT's #1 fan.

Went to the doctor on Thursday and once again, the results were positive. The nurse called me back in after a long 45 minutes of waiting and said.."congratulations, your going to be a mother!" That was weird to hear, but good, really good! I received a ton of new baby/mother literature and prenatal vitamins.
Friday finally rolled around, and of course, I had to work until 9:30pm at the school. Clayton got home from his trip around 4 pm. I was so anxious about telling him! When I finally made it home around 10pm, I found him in the kitchen making a snack. I handed him the Co-op bag with the results from the doctor.

He was very excited and had a big smile on his face. I cried a little and we hugged and kissed and laughed together. Such a relief to be able to tell him!
So that's our little story of how we found out that we are going to be parents! We are so excited and cannot wait to meet the little one God is bringing into this world. So exciting!! Thanks for reading, we will keep ya'll updated in the near future! Love to everyone!
